Students from the Joint MD-MM Program (Doctor of Medicine and Master of Management) between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital and the College of Management, Mahidol University (CMMU), recently visited Ratchaphiphat Hospital as part of the course “Leadership & Self-development.”
This site visit was organized to provide students with an understanding of integrated healthcare management within Bangkok, aligned with the city's public health policy. The visit also aimed to explore the expansion of the Sandbox Model initiative, a project introduced under the leadership of Bangkok Governor Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt. The model focuses on enhancing public access to healthcare services with greater convenience and efficiency.
The visiting group was honored to receive a warm welcome and valuable insights from
Mrs. Ketkaew Nilyan, Director of Nursing Affairs Group,
Dr. Kriangpipat Jirawanichkul, Occupational Medicine Specialist and Head of the Occupational Medicine Unit, along with a team of hospital representatives who served as guest speakers. They shared knowledge and experiences in hospital management and guided students through various units, including:
The Urban Medicine Support Center (UMSC)
The EMS Life-saving Medical Unit
The Urban Mobility Liaison Center (UMLC)
The Health Technology Center (Health Tech)
The MD-MM students extend their sincere appreciation to Ratchaphiphat Hospital for their time, hospitality, and the valuable learning experience and inspiration they provided.
The M.D.-M.M. Career Path Workshop at the College of Management, Mahidol University, successfully bridged the fields of medicine and management. It aimed to tackle the healthcare sector's challenges by capitalizing on the distinct skills of MD-MM graduates (in the dual degree program: Doctor of Medicine, Ramathibodi Faculty of Medicine and Master of Healthcare Wellness Management, College of Management, Mahidol University).
Central to the workshop were the problems and future roles faced by MD-MM students in both conventional and non-traditional healthcare settings. The event facilitated a deep understanding of the skills necessary to navigate complex healthcare issues and emphasized the importance of tailoring career paths to bolster these competencies. A key focus was the synergy between MD-MM professionals and diverse entities, including technology firms, startups, government bodies, patient advocacy groups, and educational institutions. Insightful contributions came from guest speakers, including health system science researchers, hospital directors, and Thai Health Academy experts. The workshop featured engaging expert panels, interactive World Café sessions, and discussions on synthesis and integration. These activities, coupled with networking opportunities and consultant interactions, offered a unique platform for Ramathibodi medical students and professionals to acquire practical knowledge and establish connections in the healthcare and wellness management arena.
